Sling Blade, What's Whats?

The film kept me on the edge of my seat in an uncomfortable way. I would not want to watch this film again, but i actually thought it was well done. In both films, sling blade and the card counter, the protagonists both start out in jail and end up in jail. They both try different methods of justing carrying this individual. But both of em end up using violence, and pretty extreme violence, to resolve their problem. And sling blade, it does not work out. The card counter, which i think is the point, you know, like trying to redeem oneself or take revenge, does not work. That's why i thought i was intriguing about it.
