He also sits on the board of the Jamil Poverty Action Lab at MIT which uses scientific evidence to inform policy on poverty. In 2014, he partnered with Dr. Jeff Brenner and his team at the Camden Coalition to determine if their approach to caring for complex patients was working and if it was saving money. They looked to hospital readmissions to tell the tale.
