The Obsession With Youth Culture in America

The idea that once you're 18 years old you're like an adult is a very American idea. I think the obsession with youth and like high school fantasy also comes from this desire to just like be dependent. Back in the day it was like you went to prom and then like 16 months later you married your prom date. But now there's just a longer period of survival between on your own.
