Malik: A Subversion of the Romantic Trope
Malik is interesting because I definitely feel like there's something thematic going on with him that's separate to the romantic love interest. He also has a friend in his storyline which is Santo who is a Brazilian slave trader right and they're paired up so we get them talking about their situations but their contrast is obviously a or it's not that it's a true believer as he is kind of the corruptive influence on Malik. The film feels such like a rich tapestry is that the characters have once it aligns with these skills that they have. It's an epic you know to make it a bit of more of a global large scale sort of story.
