The 10-year return on the MSCI sorry on the footsie World Government bond index for the last 10 years is zero you didn't get a return for 10 years we've seen that of course in equities as well from 2000 to 2012 no return on most equities even some equity markets in southern Europe might still be below the 2000 peak although they may be close now to getting to that. Trend following is essentially a cash plus strategy because you earn cash and you have the trading profits as well so I think in at the moment that's the key point is that it looks particularly compelling now in lyso where equities are and where rates are.
