The Only One That Still Survives Today Is the Owl Bear
It feels like the predatory marsupials of the fossil record to where it's like, you're super weird as far as predators go because we don't have large lion sized marsupial predators anymore. Maybe there was a whole diversity of bird faced monotremes in the ancestry that the past of our our layer evolution, but the only ones that still survive today is the owl bear. But then also what really strikes me about this one is that this is an odd spooky creature because it feels so reasonable.
