The Tesicular Torsion Exam

The classic presentation of torsion is a young male patient between the ages of 12 to 18 years. Nausea and vomiting are also part of that classic clinical picture. The last part of the exam is the cremostaric reflex. This is performed by gently stroking the inner part of the thigh. If you palpate this dramatic cord, you may feel a hard knot that's tender.
