C.S. Lewis was a very firmly convinced atheist well into his adulthood, says Professor Richard Quest. The Chronicles of Narnia books are seven fairly short novels aimed at principally children. There is a Christian element to the stories because this lion King, Aslan, is in many respects a Christ character,. They're a good deal of biblical parallels running through the books but not so obviously that they are in your face.
