I never really occurred to me that the resolution would be the Chinese state backing down in any meaningful way. I think they've been let down tremendously by the ATP, not standing with them. This has and is costing them. But a moral stance is an immoral stance if you bend to any of those factors. And there'll be a lot of waterboutery.
