The Joy of Discovering Something Wonderful
I've always had a strong affinity with statistics and again, machine learning is adjacent to that. So I might be biased in my liking of machine learning. Is it fun? I find it fun. It doesn't mean others will. But yeah, for me, definitely, definitely fun. And I think another interesting aspect to it is that it's been driven by the result, not by the process - which probably leads to less than optimal uses of your time at the end of the day.
