The Cost of the World Is Tragic

I find identity politics of all sorts so toxic, whether it is vochism or baptism. But I want to go beyond that a bit and just sort of talk about the construction of the self itself. So much of our self is constructed in ways that we are obviously not aware of ourselves because it's so contingent. And you know, there's that old story from the 19th century of a guy called Finneas Gage, an iron rod went through a part of his brain and made him a different person.
