The Tale of Two Cities
John Calvin wasn't born in Geneva but spent many years of his life there. In 1712 along came the Enlightenment philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. He made the argument that human beings are inherently good Society constrains them and leads them into darker environs. But they also fail to set up a utopian society Instead plunge themselves into chaos and destruction.
