Aristotle says that there's a difference between being able to geometry and having wisdom. A lot of the people who are building the technologies, I would argue, have a very constricted view of the world. They don't take seriously some of these kind of broader, deeper questions of meaning. It's very utilitarian and reductionist in its rationality.
