Introduction

The context of Hebrews is debated, but recent scholarship is changing our assumptions. The book doesn't talk about the temple that used to be standing. One of my favorite theories is that the book is actually a sermon, a homily written for a synagogue after the destruction of the temple. We're going to do one more episode on Hebrews next week.
