The White House asked Canada to help ease the much more significant pressure it faces with irregular migration at the southern border and the US southern border by accepting 15,000 more migrants in Canada. This announcement was made last Friday afternoon during US President Joe Biden's visit to Canada when him and Trudeau were meeting. Just a few hours later after they made that announcement, the crossing was closed for something like eight hours. It is not yet clear what will be those pathways to welcome those 15,000More migrants.
