Authoritarian leaders have been retrained as democratic leaders with great success and greatly improved results in the effect of their leadership. A good leader must be competent, which I pointed out a little earlier. Good leadership never creates slaves. It establishes the feeling of responsibility and initiative in those who are led. Out of such attitudes come the best morale, the quickest learning, the most effective action. The leader himself succeeds only when he assumes the role of commanding servant to his men and to the whole military enterprise.
