The Prince's Guide to the Dark Forest
The story doesn't name its characters, but it's decided to get extremely specific about this and bought a new dog from the dog merchant. Like Alice, the prince didn't have a clear destination in mind, so it really didn't matter much where he went. He soon found himself standing before a magnificent palace. On its porcelain walls, as expensive as they were impractical, he saw the entire history of fairies studded with red gems. As much as he wanted to stand there and learn about fairies, as we all do, he was being soaked to the bone in a time where that could literally mean death.
