I think sometimes people don't realize that the purpose of the oil company is to make money and they have no other purpose. The fossil fuel sector would survive if it wasn't for politicians who are prepared to prop them up no matter the cost to the earth. So in a way I think you sort of understand that oil companies capture the public mind. It's very good at telling people a story about how beneficial this is for the world.
