The Conjunctive Synthesis of Production and Consumption
Shapiro: The disjunctive synthesis of recording is a strange and a-subjective. It is only in the third synthesis, the conjunctive synthesis of consumption, that something on the order of a subject can be discerned for the first time. This subject is not the traditional philosophical one, it is too insubstantial, too fleeting and trans-tory. So when feeling swells beyond a certain point, so that a threshold is crossed, a subject is precipitated into existence.
