A month before Eric was murdered, he discovered that his wife had changed the beneficiary on the corporate life insurance policy from his business partner to herself. She accomplished this by using the pre-saved passwords and his work computer. Now despite all of this evidence against Corey, it almost took a year before she was arrested for Eric's murder. On May 9, 2023, she was charged with criminal homicide, aggravated murder, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Her detention hearing, which was scheduled for May 19, 2020, was postponed due to the addition of amended charges.
