I became a Christian when I was about 19 and again, read the biblical texts for the very first time with same, same, same situation. But then I would go read it and go, okay, they seem to be seeing things in here that I am not noticing. The enthusiasm comes because you're usually bringing Deuteronomy into your discussion of Paul's epistles. And you can see that fine line between yarn and note cards on a corkboard and conspiracy thinking or actually seeing real patterns that are in there.
