How to Tell a Story in First Person
It's really hard for a lot of readers to to accurately depict who the character is just through speaking. And that's really giving unique voices to many, many characters. I like like to put myself in their shoes when i'm writing them. A big part of it is sense of humour. Everybody's got a different sense of humor or Lack thereof. So that's a huge part. If you establish how your characters laugh and what they think is funny, and you can get that in there, it's very indicative of who's talking anger. Then the nuts and bolts, tricks to avoid the sads.
