The Grand Narrative

Before 1870, one third of women wound up not having surviving sons and other patriarchy. If you don't have a surviving son, you are at serious risk of being close to social death. So whenever there are extra resources, humanity spends them increasing the population as women try to erase the chances of having a surviving son. Then in 1870, we have an explosion of knowledge followed by an explosion of its application, followedby an explosion of wealth. And so after 1870,you know, we now can have the prospect of soon being able to bake a sufficiently large economic pie so that everyone can have enough. That is the grand narrative. Yep, yep, yep.
