Pogrom in Russian History

In russian history, the jews have often been badly treated in soviet. The word pogrom is a russian word for an attack on people. And if you're called David or david in russia, you're automatically assumed to be jewish. But then suddenly, in the 19 seventies, there's a switch. They actually allowed jewish emigration. This gave them a better chance of getting out of the country than if they weren't Jewish. A very few people had a passport that allowed them to pass the port and go abroad. Many went to united states - but many others stayed with their families.
