The First Stage of the Creative Process

A lot of times, like I said, people expect to sit down with the clay and immediately move past the testing and the learning and just want to make the big important quote unquote important stuff. And so that's almost impossible to do. When you look at them as steps, you can go anywhere. So let's look at the first step of molding that clay. I would call this first stage, the clear stage. This is where you're preparing yourself to work. You maybe are thinking about tools and ideas you want to just have around to get yourself in the mode to work. The second phase is called play.
