When elizabeth blackwell applied to geneva medical college, it was received by the people at the school, and they thought it was a joke. She was the first woman to get her medical degree in the united states. And i just want to add, she's not the only one going through. So there are women peppered throughout the northeast, slowly, you know, ice breaking for the people that will come after them.
