David Bianculli: Rupert Murdoch played a big role in the rise of Donald Trump. The Australian tabloid mogul bought the sleepy, historically liberal New York Post and reversed its politics. He popularized or brought back tabloid gossip sensibility into the lifeblood of daily newspapers. It really created beyond the politics, the voice of the sort of blaring, loud, tabloidy New York Post that we know today.
