Reconciliation of Predestination and Responsibility
The attainment of this eternal life led him be anathema. The idea is those works themselves that we need to perform to receive the heavenly reward are themselves God's gifts that God brings about in us. That's a solution I think to reconciling predestination on the one hand and our responsibility in the matter on the other. But this raises another another question or another problem that we must think through. And that's how all this is consistent with with human freedom. How what our good works can be God's gifts brought about in us by God and also be free in the way that they would need to be for us to be responsible for them.
