The Toilet Seat Isn't Sharp, It's Plastic
For the past 19 years, I'd been lifting the plastic or wooden seat and sitting directly on the porcelain rim of every toilet I had ever used. Perhaps it was hearing the phrase, men leave the toilet seat up at an early age that directed my behavior. Or maybe I wasn't shown the ropes by my parents and did just what made sense at the time. My mind flashed back through every occasion I'd sat on the toilet. The list of trips went on forever. As my consciousness faded back into the room, the hysterical laughs of my friends hit me. And I soon joined them, although my laughter was mixed with intense confusion and disbelief.I'm not in 100% certain
