The Desire to Display Competence

There's that kind of acquisitiveness tied to food, but also that extends across all these other aspects of our life. And then the one surprising one that i found was just this desire to display competence. In the famous biological example there is bower birds. They build these ornate nests, and the male bird builds the nest. Then the female bower birds go around and look at ther nests and decide who to mate with based on the nest that they like the best. So if this male is good at building an ornate ast there did also have good jeans for finding food, and those would be good gens to pass down to the next generation.
