The Limits of Acclimatization
There are elevations or altitudes at which we simply can't acclimatize enough where symptoms of acute mountain sickness could occur. At Everest base camp, the partial pressure of oxygen is about half what it is at sea level. Most of the time, this can be self-limited and can resolve even without descending to a lower altitude. This can resolve with just time or sometimes with the assistance of various medications that I'll talk about later on.
