Artificial intelligence and machine learning started as an attempt to mimic the human brain. The reliance on large scale training data in machine learning is something that i've spent a lot of time looking at. And once you use that as your so called ground truth, you've then created a system that, in many ways, is amplifying those very same biases we would want to avoid.
