In 1973, Richmond claimed it hadn't got one player from its country zone in the Sunraja League who would become a regular senior player. The Tigers wanted a recruiting draft system similar to that used by the big professional sports in America. Swabhi said clubs shouldn't care how much they spend on recruiting, it's the most important part of any club's activities. Drafting would force some of the lazy clubs to get off their back sides and work at recruiting. Imagine the glamour surrounding the country player who was the first choice at the draft meeting.
