Scala and Haskell
Scala is an interesting case study because, yeah, when Scala came out, the sort of like Java plus plus angle was kind of a significant part of the pitch. And I think that's how like half of the community did get into Scala. There's the other segment of Scala, which comes from the Haskell world. And they went through a similar journey of like trying to write Scala like Haskell. But then some portion of them have decided, hey, let's not try to make Scala into Haskell. Let's let Scala be Scala and do things in the Scala way.
