I woke border control, bans ivory instruments from entering England. There's something about opera that I think has a profound appeal to politicians and not just because they so often go there on jollies. But there's a feeling that British musical culture in particular is so strong that it can fend for itself. In new Labour, there was this desire to show that they were all about pop rather than elite culture as well.
