I painted at age 10, and then I had a critical teacher and became a perfectionist. So I stopped painting and did all sorts of things from being a computer programmer to working in adventure travel. And then most recently for 20 years, I ran a hands-on cooking party business that did corporate team building events in the kitchen. In the whole time I was doing that, I had this calling to do art, but I hadn't done it in years.
