What Does a Brain Look Like in an MRI Versus a Dreaming One?

Parts of our brain remain deactivated even while parts of the brain do activate during REM sleep and non-REM two sleep. Dreaming is based on our imaginations. The same network that supports imaginative thought, like a really good daydream, is basically the network that supports dreaming. That to me was huge because it connected dreaming and waking thought.
