The Role of Language in Internationalization
The US is an easy example of how power is evident, but not to say other countries are unaffected. The dominance of the English language as the so-called Western power has major implications on where and what students study. A key indicator of US power in higher education is its dominant presence in the major global ranking systems. Being the largest host also comprises the majority of top research producing institutions.
