Andy Warhol was way ahead of his time and isn't it strange now to watch that criticism play out in the past? Absolutely. It's just that we come from two different world. Andy suffered, I think, from a deep shame about his physical looks and also his sexuality. He grew up in a time born in 1928 when living life as an out gay man was illegal. All of that added up to an intense vulnerability that he sought to protect with a performance that was quite genius though.
