The Difference Between Bonds and Bail Bonds
The bail is what the judge puts to say, hey, you have to pay this amount of money if you want to get out of custody and jail. Bonds are more like insurances and you have bail bondsman, right? And so basically you pay a premium to basically an insurance company that ensures your bail. If you show up, everybody's okay. But would you do it? I mean, unless you're completely involved, unless you exactly knew what he was doing, my kid just scammed customers out of $8 billion. How am I supposed to know he's not going to scam me? And then I lose my home?"
