Aristotle's Law of Non Contrastition
Western logic is based on three basic axioms that go back to aristotle. The law of the excluded middle says that something has to be either true or false, right? It can't be something else. But modern computational theory is very much interested in this idea things could be uncertain within computational processes. i think it's a really fascinating development and potentially major repercussions for how we think about what computation is doing.
