A leaf chafak, the island of missing trees is set in Cyprus around the Civil War. The book has been shortlisted to lots of awards but hasn't won any major prizes. It keeps cropping up at sort of like eight or nine on the top ten Sunday times bestseller list. I just advise in general be really careful when you're in a new relationship telling someone what your favorite book is. Because they might go and read it and then they might think, what? Yeah.
