The Third Fruit of Marriage

Husbands, preserve a tender, constant, and cordial love for your wives. The woman was taken from that side of the first man which was nearest to his heart so that she might be loved by him with warm and tender affection. Beware lest it denigrate into any kind of jealousy; this is an infallible mark that love here is somewhat sensual and crass. Never allow any flattery to come near you: fear all kinds of assaults on your reputation. And as Saint Paul says, let every man know how to possess his own virtuous wife.
