The Classical Theist's Understanding of Divine Simplity
The classical theist has to get rid of distinctions between a substance and its attributes in order to understand what god is like. So let's look at some of the other attributes here, such as divine eternality. How does the classical theist understand god's eternal nature? You might think of this as another aspect of divine simplicity. God has no physical parts. God also has no temporal parts. But there's the logic of perfection here. Again, it is doing all the work.
