What Happened to Shirley Parkin?

When shirley was six weeks pregnant, she found a doctor in jacksonville, nearly two hours away. Shirley never said much about the experience, possibly because she'd been blindfolded during it. About a year later, shirley got pregnant again. She knew she would get another abortion, but this time she had trouble raising the money. Once she did, she went through the whole thing over again. It's that second attempt that results in the bleeding. Bleeding out was a common cause of death for women who had illegal abortions.
