It got so bad that in the fifties, the united states twice came close to using nuclear weapons on china. Every day for decades, the bashon broadcasting wall blasted anti communist messages across the water. Sometimes they were just straight mockery, stuff like steamed buns are bigger than your pillows. But other times, the speaker system was used to blast hyone's pop songs across to the mainland.
