Nigerians Condemn the Threats of Foreign Intervention in Niger
Eco-Wass, which is currently led by Nigeria, has made plans for a military intervention to send troops into Niger. The organization gave Niger a deadline, saying on the 6th of August, if the military government did not step down and re-impose the pro-Western leader they were going to invade. Tens of thousands of people in Niger filled the central stadium in the capital, Niamay, and held a mass demonstration of support for the nationalist policies of the military government.
