The Best Places to Travel as a Scientist

Dr. Boyd: There are two areas about being a scientist that kind of makes you feel like you're almost famous. The other area is when you go to conferences, you get to travel and depending on what institution you're at or what funding you have, you don't have to pay out of pocket for it. That was my first international travel as a federal employee. It may seem a little corny to bring your wife to a science conference, but I can assure you, she sat at the beach and enjoyed the sun the entire time.
