Moral Convictions Have This Intuitive Power
People do question and distrust authorities to get itr when they have moral conviction, strong moral convictions, about outcomes. Even before the supreme court heard anything in the case, if you had more strong moral convictions about the issue, you not only rated that you distrusted the court to get it right, you would give that response much more quickly than somebody who didn't have a moral about the case. You know, there's many other cases where we don't have moral convictions, and we're going to have to use experts and aspects of procedure fairness as a proxy. But when we do have moral convictions, that all goes out the window....
