Film Studio in Paris - The First Take of a Fade
Canas: I was not a good student. He taught me how to do a fade in the camera, either by closing the aperture or by closing the shutter. Then he taught this is how we dida, what the french call a fon duanchene. That means a dissolve in the camera. We wind the film back so many turns, depending on how long you want the how quick or how slow you want the dissolve to be. Wind the film back after the good take, carry it to the next location.
